[12:36:51] <aqu4bot> Hi, I'm aqu4bot, version "baking", running on UNIX. I'm a bot written in C++ by Subsentient [http://universe2.us/]. My source code can be found at "http://github.com/Subsentient/aqu4bot/". Try the 'commands' command to get a list of what I can do, or try 'help cmd' where 'cmd' is a particular command.

[16:51:50] <kolie> ted-ious,
[16:52:26] <kolie> What's setup right now for the wiki is docker images and compose scripts. Ideally that would be managed from ansible scripts that build the hosts, and then deploy the correct docker containers.
[16:52:44] <kolie> The result being a fully repeatable host+container setup.
[16:55:13] -!- Fnord666_ has quit [Client Quit]
[16:58:44] <ted-ious> If you have ansible scripts what do you need docker for?
[17:03:29] <kolie> How is the docker host setup and maintained? Which hosts run which docker sets? How do you manage those systems in a tested repeatable manner?
[17:04:21] <kolie> Docker is for each specific workload, the orchestration of the entire ecosystem is another component.
[17:04:30] <kolie> You can do it manually sure.
[17:05:00] <kolie> For example, the script to backup soylentnews.org, and then restore that data into staging, or to promote staging to production, it would be an anisble script.
[17:05:21] <kolie> The backup of the docker systems themselves, probably an ansible script.
[17:06:06] <kolie> That said the current staff probably isn't keen on keeping that around so idk what the future of that effort will be.
[17:06:42] <chromas> instead of docker, use nspawn containers so you can enable them with systemd :D
[17:06:51] <chromas> make them socket-activated even
